Hello!
I'm Chloë, a senior product designer who currently resides in Bristol, UK. I work surrounded by books and dog-hair all whilst listening to as many history and spy podcasts that I can find.
SCROLL TO EXPLORE
I help clients create thoughtful, distinctive products that stand out and make an impact.
I’m a Welsh product designer based in Bristol, England. I enjoy turning complex problems into thoughtful, meaningful solutions. With over 20 years of experience, my work has focused primarily on app design, but my background is broad. It includes brand design, interactive storytelling, typesetting, web development, and at one point a slightly unhealthy obsession with Flash.
My skill set spans product design, user experience, animation, interaction, illustration, and brand direction. I thrive in fast-paced environments, where I can wear multiple hats and work directly with stakeholders to shape strong, user-focused outcomes.
From early discovery and UX strategy through UI, interaction design and developer hand-off, I’m comfortable owning the entire design lifecycle.
I’m a Welsh product designer living in Bristol, England. I enjoy turning complex experiences into meaningful solutions. While my 20+ years of product experience focused primarily on app design (from the first iPhone!), my experience also stems from a background in brand design, interactive storytelling, typesetting, and web development, and a unhealthy obsession with Flash back in the day.
My design experience consists of product design, user experience, animation, interaction, illustration & brand direction. I thrive in fast-paced environments wearing multiple hats and working directly with stakeholders.
From early discovery and UX strategy through UI, interaction design and developer hand-off, I’m comfortable owning the entire design lifecycle.
In my 20 year tenure, I’ve helped launch over 30 websites and 35+ apps from scratch across SaaS, Fintech, EdTech, BioTech and Web3 industries, ranging in B2B, B2C and B2B2C for enterprise level to pre-seed startups.
I’ve steered and been part of distributed teams across the UK & Ireland, France, Italy, the US and Canada.
I work with companies excited about the impact design can have on health, data, music, AI & storytelling to name a few interests. If you’re looking for a Product Design expert, we should talk!

People have called me…
Head of Design
I’ve held roles like Head of Design, Principal Designer, and Design Lead. But at the heart of it, I care most about craft, clarity, and people. I’ve led teams, built products from scratch, and shaped design processes. I still enjoy being hands-on and close to the work.
What matters most to me is building great things with good people. I believe in creating space for collaboration, honest feedback, and shared ownership. I enjoy mentoring and supporting designers at all levels. Especially in environments where the pace is fast and the challenges come thick and fast.
Lately, I’ve been exploring how AI can support and expand the design process. I’m excited by tools that help with exploration, accessibility, and systems thinking. I’m also interested in how designers can help shape what comes next.

Head of Product
I focus on setting clear direction and building products that are thoughtful, accessible, and grounded in real user needs. I work closely with cross-functional teams to shape product vision, define priorities, and make sure we’re solving the right problems. I enjoy bringing structure to complexity and helping teams stay aligned through change.
I’m hands-on with roadmaps, tickets, sprints, and all the moving parts that bring a product to life. I enjoy the balance of thinking strategically while staying close to the details. I care about the craft, the process, and making sure the final result feels well considered and easy to use.
I also understand the tools and workflows behind web apps, SaaS platforms, and mobile products. That knowledge helps bridge the gap between design and development in a way that’s practical, efficient, and collaborative.

A Strategist
I’ve always been drawn to the space between structure and creativity. I like figuring out how things work, then finding ways to twist them into something better or more unexpected. There’s something satisfying about following a system just long enough to know how to break it with purpose. My background blends logic, design thinking, and a healthy dose of curiosity, which helps me make decisions that are both strategic and a little bit bold.
Whether it’s shaping product direction or exploring business growth, I like asking questions that challenge the default. I’m not afraid to push back if it leads to a smarter outcome. I enjoy working with teams that are open to rethinking old ideas and trying new angles.

A Team Player
Working with startups and remote teams has taught me to stay flexible, open, and collaborative. I’ve worked with in-house teams, freelancers, and outside agencies across time zones, so I know how important it is to listen, adapt, and keep things moving. I’m comfortable bringing different perspectives together, helping teams align, and finding common ground when things get complicated.
I’ve led design teams and partnered closely with engineers, which means I care just as much about good communication as I do about good design. I focus on sharing clear, workable handoffs and making sure ideas are easy to understand and build.

I focused on the study of interactive design and technology, with a particular interest in interactive narratives and non-linear storytelling. This period shaped my thinking around user choice, emotional engagement, and how stories can unfold in more dynamic and immersive ways.

Designer & Developer for SIFT
This was my first agency role after completing my MA in Interactive Design. I started as a Junior Designer and worked my way up over time. Back then, it was common to both design and build, so I gained early experience across visual design and front-end development. It was a fast-paced environment that helped me grow quickly and build a strong foundation in digital product work.

🤔 Why did I go freelance?
Mobile app design was becoming more prominent and I wanted in on the action! Tired of the web I wanted a new challenge.
Shifting to freelance allowed me to concentrate exclusively on app projects, well before dedicated app-design studios even existed.

I joined Asana early in its growth as a Product Designer, I collaborated closely with stakeholders across the company. In the early stages, I focused on the desktop experience, helping shape the brand direction and design language. As the product evolved, I moved onto the mobile team, where I worked directly with the Product Manager and both iOS and Android devs.

After freelancing with the team on and off for years, I accepted a full-time role at a app development agency based in Washington, DC. The agency focused on building a wide range of applications across industries, from early-stage startups to more established platforms. We started as a team of four, and I played a key role in growing it to over 20. During my time there, I designed more than 28 apps, covering everything from health and finance to social and productivity tools. I was part of the leadership team, helping shape the business, define product processes, and guide overall direction. I also led hiring and took ownership of design strategy and execution across the team.

My perfect role
I make it a priority to stay hands-on with the tools. This is where I do my best work and where I feel most engaged. I’ve led design teams, but I thrive in a Senior Designer role. It gives me the space to focus, solve complex problems, and stay close to the details that matter. I also value mentoring. I enjoy supporting junior designers and helping them grow through day-to-day collaboration and feedback.
I’m most excited by teams that care about the impact of design. I look for companies working in health, data, music, AI, or storytelling, to name just a few!
